All teams and individuals entered in classes 1 and 2 are competing for the Area Championship title but these classes will also include riders wishing to qualify for the BRC Championships at Grange Farm, Wittering on May 14th provided preliminary entries have been received by BRC at Stoneleigh by March 4th.

CLASSES

CLASS 1: OPEN CLASS INCLUDING AREA CHAMPIONSHIP & B.R.C. OPEN QUALIFIER

Fences 3' - 3'3" (91cm - 1 metre)
Classes to be separated into:
a) Senior Riding Club Teams and RC Individuals for the Championship and Area 12 Open qualifier.
b) Open to non-Riding Club members and Riding Club Members not wishing to compete for the championship and qualifier.

CLASS 2: AREA 12 NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP & B.R.C. NOVICE QUALIFIER

Fences 2'6" - 2'9" (76cm - 84cm)
Classes to be separated into:
a) Senior and Junior Riding Club Teams and Individuals for the championship and Area 12 Novice qualifier.
b) Open to non-Riding Club members and Riding Club members not wishing to compete for the championship and qualifier.

CLASS 3: PAIRS

Entry fee £20 per pair
Fences 2'6" - 2'9" (76cm - 84cm
Open to all riders and entries will be taken on the day.

CLASS 4: OPEN NOVICE

Fences 2'3" - 2'6" (69cm - 76cm)
Open to all riders

There is no farrier available.

COMPETITION RULES & CONDITIONS

  1. All classes will be run and judged in accordance with the appropriate Rules 2005 for British Riding Clubs, a copy of which is available at the Secretary's caravan.
  2. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are responsible, neither the organisers nor the B.H.S. nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies will accept any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to any person or property whatsoever. We recommend you take out Personal Accident Insurance.
  3. In all cases the Steward's decision is final. Any objection should be accompanied by a deposit of £20 and be lodged within half an hour of the incident, The deposit will be returned only if the objection is held.
  4. Correct dress shall be worn. Everyone mounted, whether competitor or not, shall wear a hard hat which is of EN1384, Pas105 or prefixed with ASTM or SEI standard. Such headgear shall be worn properly adjusted and fastened. Failure to do so will incur elimination.
  5. Back protectors to Beta standard Class 1-3 (green, orange or purple label) are compulsory for all Hunter Trial competitors.
  6. Tack will be checked at the Collecting Ring. A medical armband is compulsory. It is recommended that they be worn outside clothing
  7. Dogs must be kept on a short lead AT ALL TIMES.
  8. The organisers reserve the right, in the light of prevailing circumstances to cancel the event, alter classes, judges, time or any other published information.
  9. Vet fees incurred at the event are the responsibility of the horse rider or owner.
  10. The event organisers regret that it will not be possible to refund entry fees if a rider or horse is withdrawn after close of entries
  11. The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry for a class if the space does not permit it. No entries will be accepted without the correct entry fee.
  12. The whole cross country course will be timed and the competition run under the OptimumTime rules. Stopwatches, mobile telephones or any other watch will not be allowed.

    BRC Area 12 Note:These are just some examples of rules. Consult the Event Guidelines Handbook and your official steward.

    B.R.C. preliminary qualifying entries on the official BRC Entry Forms must be made to BRC Office at Stoneleigh by March 4th.

    Entries to Area Championships (1A and 2A) close March 13th. and should be sent to the:

    ENTRY FEES:

    Classes 1 & 2: £16.00 per individual, £18.00 non members, £60.00 per team
    Classes 3 & 4: As marked
    Paramedic Fees: £3.00 per rider
    Numbers deposit: £5.00 per person for numbers on the day
    Late entries: £4.00 extra

    FLU VACCINATION CERTIFICATES

    Copies of flu vaccination certificates must accompany all entries for the Area 12 Open and Novice Qualifiers. Please make sure the copy is clearly marked with the name of the club, rider and horse.

    The original certificates must be available for inspection on the day.

    Jump Judges and Officials: provided by the course organisers.
    Rosettes: to 6th. place for teams and individuals
    Declaration of Entries: no teams or individuals will be allowed to compete in qualifying classes (1a, 2b) until their club hands in the official declaration forms to the Secretary.

    Bad Weather: it is the responsibility of the competitors to check with the organiser if the weather is inclement on the day of competition.
